'Tis Easter- the day of dying eggs, good meals, and spirituality.

Today was the chillest Easter ever.
as promised, here are some pictures of little sexy dexy.
love this one!
betsy freaking out about it pooping on her hand.
it's temporary home. now it lives in an old fish tank.

Alright so here's what i did today-
went to church-{see below}, read 20 pages in my photo history text book. Made a cake

Chocolate butterscotch with dark chocolate and Butterfinger on top.
and also rice made with chicken broth, gravy, and red potatoes and rosemary chicken. YUM!

and then we dyed easter eggs.
Betsy and Ashley are hot sexy mamas!
{Did i mention that i'm a member of the mermaid club again?? yeah, i need to find a new hair style. If you have any good ideas, i'd LOVE to hear them. Leave me a comment!}
and my home teacher, cade came over. he brought me a cute little easter egg snickers bar. and then my super super super super sweet visiting teachers, kim and cami jo, came over! they brought me a cute easter egg card and a bag of my favorite Mini Cadbury Eggs. Seriously though, i am so blessed! I have had the best college experience and it has mostly to do with the amazing people that i have met and love!
sorry, it's a skosh dark....
it's not like i'm a photo major or anything. ;)

and here is my blurb about my beliefs {it is Easter after all :D}-

College wards look like the black plague hit on holidays. They are SO small. it was still really good though. I love Easter. How everything is focused on Christ and his atonement. Makes me remember the real important things in my life and what matters most. i am grateful to be able to be forgiven of my sins. there is such a hope given to me each sunday and i'm grateful for the knowledge that i have that i can return to my Father in heaven one day.
I've been thinking a lot about How Heavenly Mother isn't mentioned a lot. I honestly cannot wait to meet her one day. I mean, my earthly mother is amazing so my heavenly mother must also be! About a month ago was the relief society birthday party in my ward. one of the members of the bishopric spoke. He talked about how his wife's mom had died a few years ago and to see how hard it was on her to not have her mom with her. He told us that daughters should not be left on Earth without their mothers. This got me thinking about my Heavenly Mother. I've heard that nothing compares to a mother's love for her children. i don't fully understand this yet, for i do not have children of my own. I can only Imagine the love that she has for all of her children. I can't wait for one day to learn more about her and to meet her again. I'm sure that she is just as concerned about me and loves me just as much as my Heavenly Father does.

exactly one year ago today, i was excepted into the art department of USU. {read about it here} One year later, here i am fully immersed in art classes and now, accepted into my dream major and feeling extremely blessed. i am SO excited to be doing what i love. Everyone keeps telling me {and has told me for quite some time} that i'll change my major several times before i'm done..... i can honestly say that i doubt it. I have a plan and i plan on following through with this plan. :D

Wonderful wedding!!

days like today are so great!
I love LOVE love LOVE shooting weddings! seriously though. Everyone is just so happy! and all the family is there, everyone is talking about their memories from a long time ago, etc.
in this case, the bride and groom had both been married before and both have families. The groom had 9 children and the bride had 3. there were 46 grandkids and 3 great grandkids. While at the luncheon meeting so many new people and watching how they all interacted with each other really made me want to have a large family. They had not all been together in a while because they all live different places and so i think the reunion meant a lot to them. Honestly though, i want that some day. I want to grow old with the man i love and watch our children grow up and have families of their own.
I don't think i could get any greater satisfaction than seeing my own children live their lives to the best of their ability.
Anyways this was a huge group! HUGE! it was also super fun because the wedding and reception was western themed and so everyone was dressed up like cowboys and cowgirls! The whole family had a blast. And i did too. I love weddings. I love being happy. :D

short post, but i've been going all day long. so.....
loves,
me

being sick=being bored=another blogpost

so the past few days i've been getting sicker. :P BOO! just a dumb head cold. but it's good that it has been conference so i can lounge around my apartment in my PJ's.
So conference was wonderful! I really really really really enjoyed Elder Scott's talk!
it was super adorable how he talked about his wife and all the thoughtful things they did for each other while being married.
{i love these guys!}
I had my questions answered and worries calmed too. :D

Anyways last night i went with betsy and ashley to my friend Carrie's house for banana splits while all the (good) young lads were off at the Priesthood session. {we were driving around town and someone mentioned that they love not seeing guys out for the night because they are all being righteous. and the ones who aren't there we were supposed to glare at them haha} :D She made homemade caramel syrup and homemade chocolate syrup! and had like 50 toppings for them! They were most excellent.

then we watched the Legends of Zorro. never in my life had i seen it. It was super awesome! Antonia Banderaz is a babe.
favorite line of the movie- "you should put some lipstick on if you're going to act like my mother!" bahaha!

it is with great excitement and enthusiasm that i announce to you that.....................................................
I CHANGED MY INFO ON FACEBOOK!

this is what it now reads-
I'd rather be taking pictures!

I am a Utah State Aggie (WOOT!) and I am an Orem High Graduate! I love to take pictures, read, take pictures, have fun, take pictures, and go to Aggie athletic events, etc. I have the BEST roommates in the world. We have a ton of fun, weird conversations, do random spur of the moment things, and enjoy once a week roommate bonding night/i hate boys night/i hate scratchy sock night by eating ice cream and watching a chick-flick.

goals include- dating a cowboy, kissing in the library, traveling to Europe, learn how to control the TV/DVD in my house in Orem, perfect the art of making gravy, Photograph an elaborate wedding, fly a plane, pull an all nighter, become an expert in Facebook stalking, own a 4 door jeep, play red rover in the middle of a large intersection, have someone named after me, have a baby boy before Ashleigh so i get the fought after name, own a horse, go on a sleigh ride, turn 20, fly in a hot air balloon, kiss under mistletoe, take a successful photo of the moon and it's craters, own a legit ranch, marry in the temple, have an adventure every day of my life with him, and live happily ever after with my very own Mr Perfectly Imperfect. :D

cool beans eh?
so now because the only thing i have to do is blow my nose and take a second nap of the day i will explain my fun to goals to you! :D

dating a cowboy- pretty self explanatory. i once read this-

"If he has snakeskin boots and a wide brimmed hat, your hearts a fluttering! He is fearless, loves to get down and dirty, and not afraid of hard work. He is a loyal family man, and wants to provide for them in any way possible. He loves riding horses, training horses, caring for livestock, agriculture and has a deep love for dogs. He is not one to rely soley on his physical skills, as most Cowboys are also highly intelligent. Not only is he good on the farm, but he's also talented at sweet talking you and could lasso your heart a mile away. There is no shortage of charm with the Cowboys, for them chivalry is not dead and never will be. For a rough and tumble type, he really does have a soft inner core when it comes to loved ones, and he isn't afraid to show it. "
Although not all of this is why i want to date/marry/beinlovewith a cowboy, it gives you the most of it. they are just SO adorable, and are at the essence of being gentlemen. sigh.

next-kissing in the library. there is a quote on our P4 quote wall of awesomeness that reads, "i want to kiss passionately in the library."-Brianna...... so i just have this dream of kissing someone in between weathered old paper and metal shelves okay? give me a break. it could be worse. i just think kissing in the library is somehow very romantic. :D
{only i will not kiss a guy if they are wearing that tight of a shirt}

Traveling to Europe- I want to travel the world, europe being the first place i'd go outside the US. (i've already been to Canada). I want to go to Italy (#1) and Greece (#2) the most. I want to bring my camera and 6 cajilion memory cards to document ever milisecond of this adventure. And i need to go before i get married {not that this is happening soon} because everyone knows that after you get married you
  • Become boring
  • become even more poor
  • boring
  • and then more poor.
so obviously in the next 2 years is the most ideal time to travel the world.

learning how to control the TV/DVD at my house in Orem probly sounds ridiculous but you don't understand. There are at least 20-5000 cords and for some reason it's not as simple as pushing a button on the remote that the TV changes from cable to dvd to vcr back to cable. there is a series of un plugging, plugging, jamming, yelling, hoping, but mostly praying to get it to work. and i can never remember the order of how things work. So whenever i go home to visit, if i'm yelling from the basement for someone to help, my family doesn't reply or come. Because they know they will then have to help me figure it out. the only thing is that i hate it when they just do it, cause then i never can learn it. so i always make them teach me how to do it. But i still don't ever remember..... So therefore, this is a hefty and worthwhile goal of mine. :D
perfecting the art of making gravy- my mom, and grandma, and great grandma, etc. have this delicious way of making gravy. and i know how to make it, i just never can make it taste as good as theirs. they don't ever use a recipe so it's hard to make it exactly as theirs. i'm getting better, i just need more practice. and one day, my daughters will be saying the same things as me. :D

photograph an elaborate wedding. i want to take picture's for a waaay expensive wedding. one with name cards on the table, and where they serve dinner that cost over 200 a plate. :D there would be so much to take pictures of and it would be a dream come true for me. :D

fly a plane. It's my grandpa in me. He was in the air force. and i want to learn to fly an airplane. one day it will happen. and you all will be jealous.

pull an all nighter. don't make fun! I've tried! but i always fall short of it. And everyone always tells me that they do it because they procrastinated writing a really huge paper or project. but here's the problem- i physically cannot procrastinate. It stresses me out! and i do not do well with an overload of stress. so, i take the stress off of myself and get things done early. which in return prevents my goal of pulling an all nighter less possible.

Become an expert in facebook stalking. I'm pretty daggon good at this already but even i can improve a little more.

own a 4-door jeep. Because they are sexy! okay okay, i want my future husband to own one. But either way, i would own it. :D preferably a navy blue or yellow one.

play "red rover" in a busy intersection. Would this not be legit?!?! "red rover, red rover, send one mini van over!" i think it would be the highlight of anyone's life.

have someone named after me. story time! i've never shared that with anyone before but i have news! it might happen!! i got this random text from ash and it said, "so nathan has our first daughter's name picked out." i said, "and that is...?" and she said, "jocelyn NICHOLE." AHHHHHHH!!!!!!! that's my middle name!! and i know that it's not even my first name, but who cares?!??!!?! so this dream might in fact come true one day. now, ashleigh and Nathan just need to have a niece for me. :D

Having a baby boy before Ashleigh does. so growing up us girls like to come up with names for our future kiddos, right? well ash and i have the same name for our first born sons. And now that she's married i have not-so-secretly put a curse on her to only having girls until i have a boy first. the name- James. After our grandpa. :D and i am bound and determined that that name is mine!

own a horse- if i marry a cowboy this should be a piece of cake. If i don't, then i want to raise my sons as cowboys. so then they can make other girl's dream of marrying a cowboy come true one day. ;) jk jk. but a horse would be neato to have.

go on a sleigh ride. like a legit horse drawn sleigh in the winter where it would lightly snow throughout. and this, would be perfectly romantic too! :D

turn 20- i'm less than 10 months away. Hopefully i don't die before then. I feel like i've been a teenager for far too long. don't get me wrong, i've had the most wonderful teenage years ever, but still. 20 finally sounds grown up. :D

fly in a hot air balloon. sounds scary, sounds pretty awesome! i just read a book once and there was a couple scenes where there were hot air balloons. And i want to go in one now. :D

kiss under mistletoe. (i know, another kissing one){my friend tara made a list of all the places she wants to be kissed and told me i should do one too.... so i did...... but that is for a different post.....maybe.} i know this is cliche but who cares!

take a successful photo of the moon and it's craters. i have attempted this 4 times. and failed more than miserably every time. i need a better lens.

own a legit ranch- once again, this whole marrying a cowboy would make this easier.

get married in the temple- DUH!

have an adventure ever day of my life with him- i always feel ridiculous when i say this but my greatest goal in life is marrying my very own perfectly imperfect {for me} man in the temple and live happily ever after. I would give almost everything up i ever wanted (see random goals above) to have this.

anyways i'm done being cheesy for today.
i'm going to go take some drugs and hopefully get over my cold.

loves and hugs too,
Bri

All this about weddings...

So it seems like everyone is getting married right now. With ashleigh getting married and all her plans with the reception and everything has made think about what i want at my wedding!
I decided that i don't want a really formal wedding. That's not my personality. i want a fun wedding!
so here's what i am thinking for the way far future-

Colors- purple green and yellow OR Orange, green and yellow. :D

You know how i like pictures? (DUH) well there will be a photo booth at my wedding. and each group of guests that come will take their pictures in the photo booth and get to keep one strip and then one strip will go in my guest book and they will sign next to their photo strip. :D That's me, right? i can't think of a single thing that is more "me" that i could do at my wedding than that!

My husband will be wearing a brown suit. or gray. or tan. NOT black.
love that paisley tie! and the boutonnière

I don't want a ton of flowers at the reception. Instead for center pieces and such i think it would be super cute to have a bunch of larger mason canning jars filled with salt water taffy in my colors or other kinds of candy in my colors (instead of the glass marble pebble thingys) and put large lollipops in them instead of flowers. :D cool right?! I can't find a picture of exactly like that but here's kind of an idea.

I'm not sure what kind of flowers i want.
i really like sunflowers though.

I really like those yellow round ones too. (does anybody know what they are called?)

i don't think i want a traditional wedding cake. (not for sure though) maybe something fun like this.
i actually think this is SUPER cute.
(what do you think??)

as for food- We're having a nacho bar, and cotton candy (in my colors) and popcorn and Spokandy mints. (they are heaven in a little square.)

as for what everyone will wear. the girls in the fam will probably have knee length jean skirts with a cute top in one of my colors. i don't want it really matchy matchy. the guys will have tan pants and maybe a polo or white short sleeve shirt and suspenders. ooh!! and maybe cowboy/girl boots! ;D
although those dresses are CUTE!

hopefully by then i will have some nieces and nephews. :D (hint hint- ash and nathan!) :P

other random stuff i think are kinda cool
So that's pretty much what i have planned thus far. lol

AND this is the photographer that i would die and go to heaven to get!!!! You don't even realize how much i love her work. I'm saving my money now (not for the reception) but for this photographer. Isn't she like the Ansel Adams of wedding photography??! can i just obsess over her a little longer? Rebekah Westover, i aspire to take as pretty of pictures as you one day. :D

(the all time most important part of the even) this is where i will get married- salt lake temple, logan temple, timpanogas temple, or the brigham city temple.

so that's my wedding. (not for a long while though) :D

My future home

My future home will be AWESOME!

it will have these qualities-
(what the heck is it with me and bullet points the past few posts?... i will have to write about my love for said bullet points next time....)

  • My back yard will have the most beautiful bush of Wisteria. So it obviously will smell good. i want it growing on a white gazebo and i will kiss my husband in it whenever i want to. :D
  • my kitchen will have white cabinets (maybe...) and a citrus orange wall. kinda like this except wrong color- only it will be bigger too. and probably gourmet. And i want the fridge and dishwasher and appliances to blend in.
  • my bedroom will have a canopy bed. And probably rose pedals too. :) It will be large and spacious and a good room. either dark walls or warm walls. i'm not sure yet. and i will have a grand closet and some place to put my shoes so that i never have to dig for them.
except that will NOT be pink. no way no how.
  • and here is my bathroom.
it's like a waterfall from heaven!this shower is kinda ugly...but the idea is WICKED!

  • Here's the family room- TONS! of pictures of my family in black and white on the wall. i'm diggin' this green. cool eh? i really like the black and white accents too. especially that rug! :D
I love this rooooooom!!!!!

something along those lines. :D
(every room in my house will have photos on the wall.)

  • my dining room will not be super formal. i don't want people to eat at my house and think that they must sit up straight (reminds me of the Princess Diaries when her grandma ties her to her chair in scarves) and not put elbows on the table. Eating with your family is the time to laugh and feel comfortable and just have good memories from.

a place with lots of natural light too. i'm a sucker for large windows and natural light. I so don't like artificial lights. i think i'm going to have sky lights in my house.

  • how can i have a dream home without my own person photo studio??

something along these lines.
  • maybe a smallish darkroom too. :D

  • and when i have little chittles (kiddos, children, offspring) here is an adorable nursery

Gender unspecific so i don't have to buy more junk if i don't have all the same gender kids.

anyways, it will be a cool home. i like the looks of the outside of these homes.

must not be stucco. must have adorable shutters and some sort of a wrap around porch. cute right?? i know.

on a side note- one week from today i'll be on the beach in california. :D
